十個會讓你流口水的英文成語

中文成語有吾少關於食物，比如系瓜田李下、囫圇吞棗、藕斷絲連，以下的英文成語，睇下自己又會識幾多？

1.easy as pie
西方人可能認為做雞批比借火容易，easy as pie來形容這件事簡單得誰都可以做，毫無難道的意思。

2.go bananas

Bananas 不止是minions 的用語，也不是解釋「去你的，香蕉!」而是形容人們 「瘋狂、抓狂」的意思，用英文另一個為「go nuts」 也有類似的意思。

3.you are the apple of my eye
作為一個浪漫的讀者,或者喜歡台灣電影的你，對於此成語一定吾會感到陌生，但此源自聖經詩篇文中的「keep me as the apple of the eye」,有如保護眼中瞳孔」的意思，後來就引伸為你是我的珍愛。

4.Full of beans
某日港女與老外出外用膳的真實對白如下:
港女:are you hungry?
老外:i am good . I am full of beans
港女:what?! You ate a lots of beans?
老外:no....
Full of beans 本意同豆是毫無關系的。意指有活力、朝氣勃勃。比如是my young brother is too active.He is always full of beans.

5. (To) spill the beans
這個與full of beans 完全不同，spill 如果作口語用， 口語就是「說出秘密」， 而整個意思就是說出不該說的話。比如你在pantry 在聽到不必要的說話時，可以說「I am so sorry of hearing you spilling the beans.」

6.To butter somebody up
此乃辦公室常用語。butter 名詞為牛油外， 也可以月作動詞， 解作奉誠、討好，而to butter somebody up, 就是有「對人極度客氣、又過份地奉承」的意思。比如， Henry always works later to butter his boss up.

7.have your cake and eat it
試想象你面前有件很看似很美味的蛋糕，你知道吃了以後蛋糕便不存在，但它先看來真的很好吃，......這個「魚與熊掌不可兼得」最適宜形容此的情況。 比如是，My father wants to take care of us and earns for more, but he can't have his cake and eat it.


8. That’s the way the cookie crumbles有曲奇餅就有曲奇餅碎，比喻事情總有兩面， 如有壞事及生， 如何也不能避免。近來某高官被提早退休，他可以說「I was not happy with my termination of my work, but that's the way the cookie crumbles」

9.(To be) the cream of the crop
奶油（Cream） 查是在奶油中最好的部份，而cream off 也有「選出最好的意思」， 而
To be the cream of the crop 就有優秀中的優秀，鶴立雞群的意思。

10.Eat Crow
這源自19世紀50年代的一個故事, 故事涉及兩個男人的睹博, 其中一個男人同另一個男人說,我能吃所有東西, 於是另一名男子與他打睹, 真的找來了鳥鴉。他說:我吃烏鴉。(原文為 ‘I kin eat a crow)。後來另一農夫真的找來一頭烏鴉, 他後來真的吃了一口, 但他說了句,'I kin eat a crow, but I be darned if I hanker after it'
後來的意思是「因自己選擇的決定而犯了錯誤而感到難堪, 而又得承認責任。」
例如為:when the policeman caught the wrong person, they had to eat the crow.
